TITLE: Sr. Cloud Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
REPORTS TO: Director of IT Operations

As a Sr. Cloud Engineer at Quantum Technology Group, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and services. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud-based systems, as well as optimizing performance and cost-efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code, and a passion for staying up to date with the latest industry trends.

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure-based solutions, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and architect cloud solutions that meet business needs.
• Responsible for Intune/MEM configuration and policy management.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager templates.
• Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud resources.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, working closely with support teams.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security.
• Stay abreast of the latest cloud technology updates and industry best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline deployment pipelines and automate repetitive tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Document architecture, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager.
• Solid understanding of cloud services, including virtual networks, storage, databases, and container orchestration.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization in Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-400) are a plus.
• Experience with frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, SOC, ISO, NIST, etc. are a plus.
• Experience working within government is a plus.
